Game Recap

DENVER (AP) -- Mark Reynolds hit a two-run homer in the ninth and Stephen Drew went deep in Arizona's three-run 10th inning, leading the Diamondbacks to a 5-2 win over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday.

Drew's second homer of the season came on a 1-0 pitch from Micah Bowie (0-1). Reynolds also had an RBI single in the 10th after the Rockies' infield let a popup by Orlando Hudson drop just over the mound. Alex Romero tacked on another run-scoring single.

It was Colorado's fifth straight loss.

With the Rockies leading 1-0, Conor Jackson started the ninth with a single and Reynolds followed with a two-run homer off Manny Corpas.

Matt Holliday tied it in the bottom half, drilling a pitch from Brandon Lyon (1-1) over the right-field fence for his first home run and RBI of the season. It was Lyon's second blown save.

Chad Qualls worked out of a jam in the 10th to earn his first save this season. He walked the first two batters, but got Ryan Spilborghs to roll into a double play and Troy Tulowitzki to line out.

Rookie Franklin Morales held the Diamondbacks to two hits over six innings in his first start of the year. Taylor Buchholz and Brian Fuentes kept Arizona in check before Corpas' meltdown.

Edgar Gonzalez lasted five innings for the Diamondbacks, giving up just one run and six hits. He entered the game with a 9.00 career ERA against the Rockies.

Colorado players trotted out to home plate to accept their NL championship rings before the game. Todd Helton, the face of the organization, got the loudest ovation.

Helton acknowledged the cheers with a simple wave of his hand. He opened up the box and just stared at the ring, which featured 69 diamonds and a purple "CR" embedded in a field of white gold.

The sleek-looking ring also had eight stones representing the NL wild-card tiebreaker win over San Diego and the seven victories in playoff sweeps of Philadelphia and the Diamondbacks.

Tulowitzki broke out of an 0-for-18 slump with two hits.

Colorado scored a run in the third. Tulowitzki punched a two-out single to center and then stole second. Helton drove him in with a single up the middle, and has now hit safely in all six games.

Game Notes

The Rockies squandered scoring chances by hitting into double plays in each of the first two innings, and again in the seventh.

Morales retired the Diamondbacks in order in the opening frame, the first time a Rockies pitcher has done that in 20 innings.

The Diamondbacks will unfurl their banner commemorating the team's NL West crown on Monday in their home opener.

"It's always nice to see," manager Bob Melvin said. "But you're in a new season and you have to get past that and realize that is past history."
