After a year where Walt Disney World was given some much needed rest and relaxation away from the hijinx of the Great Pin
Adventure, the roving party is back and more zanny than ever. That's right kids, the boys are back in town. With bags packed
and the car loaded, it is finally time for Arizona Jeff and Mean Laureen to take Oliver P. Phinnius on that long awaited vacation.
As with any family vacation, it will be filled with sights and sounds best left to the back of the family truckster. That being
said, these activities are some you are not going to want to miss.
- Family Scrapbook - What would a family gathering be without someone bringing along the family scrapbook. This vacation is
no different. Each adventurer will be given a scrapbook to be filled with memories. For each pin that the adventurer trades with
another family member (pin collector) they should make a note in their scrapbook along with where the other member is from. At the
end of the adventure, you will be given credit for trading with the most relatives and for collecting with the most relatives from
different places.
- Are We Lost? - As with all vacations, the driver rarely if ever looks at the map. Well Arizona Jeff is no exception. So while
he was driving, Mean Laureen was taking pictures just to show they had no idea where they were going. Your challenge is to look at
the pictures and try and find out where in the world were they when that photograph was taken.
- Tourist Traps and Points of Interest - Did you realize we are only four hours away from the world's second largest ball of
twine? Well Mean Laureen has come up with a list of items for you to find while on your vacation. Back by popular demand is the
Great Pin Adventure scavenger hunt. This is one you are not going to want to miss.
- Post Cards from the Edge - One of the great things about vacations is sending a postcard back to those who didn't go just to
show where you've been. Well here is your chance to show your pride from where you are from. Bring or mail the most outrageous
postcard you can find about your home state or home city. Postcards can be mailed to:
Arizona Jeff
4905 West Buffalo Street
Chandler, AZ 85226-7906
And don't forget to tell me how much you wish I were there.
- A Kodak Moment - What would a family vacation be without photographs? So for all you would-be shutterbugs, now is your chance
to show your artistic side. Bring a camera (digital or film) on vacation and Arizona Jeff will give you a list of things to have
your picture taken with. Of course with Jeff making up the photos, they are bound to be a little crazy. Awards will be given at the
Great Pin Adventure for those who have the most photos from the list. Remember to plan ahead if you are using film as you will need
time to have those pictures developed. So go on, make your own Kodak moments.
- Twenty Questions in the Back Seat - With the countless hours spent in the car getting to your vacation destination, you are
going to need to pass the time while riding in the back seat. What better way than with one of Mean Laureen's Disney Trivia contests?
She has devised something extra special this year. Some of these are so hard that it will take a rocket scientist to figure them out.
- Adventure Auction - Just to make this a little more interesting this year, Arizona Jeff and Mean Laureen have decided that the
adventurers should be allowed to earn their own prizes. So with all the games and activities they have planned for the weekend, you
will have the opportunity to earn Adventure Dollars. These Adventure Dollars can be used to bid on items at the Adventure Auction.
You can work alone or pool all your money together with other adventurers to get that extra special prize you've always wanted. And
where else can you see someone buy a lanyard for $8,000?
So you can see there is going to be a little something for everyone at this adventure. Besides the activities listed above, Arizona
Jeff always has a few surprises up his sleeve. What are you waiting for, run don't walk over to the registration
page to get signed up for another great adventure. Who knows, there maybe even an appearence by Cousin Eddie. Just remember, although
the Great Pin Adventure may be the ultimate destination, half the fun is getting there.
