At each Arizona Diamondbacks home game there is a Hot Dog race that features Hot Dogs representing Ketchup, Mustard, and Relish. A child is chosen from the crowd to represent each of these condiments. As the gun goes off the kids run in place on the field beyond the Diamondbacks dugout hoping that their hot dog wins. To the victor goes a T-shirt with the condiment they represented on the front. When the Hot Dog Derby started, each condiment represented a section of the stadium and if your condiment won you were given a coupon for a hot dog from Circle K but that has been eliminated the past several seasons.
For a brief amount of time, the Hot Dog Derby along with the Legends races were featured in the MLB Ballpark app where fans at the ballpark could vote for who they thought would win the races. That part of the Interactive Games was eliminated for the 2024 season.

Whenever I take one of the kids to the ballpark they always want to know which hot dog won the last race so they can attempt to predict the winner that night. As a result I began tracking this information in my scorebook. I started to get curious if there was a pattern or if one condiment dominated all others. So like any good statistician I decided it would be appropriate to graph the results. Check back often to see how your favorite condiment is doing.
