Greinke was the Opening Day starting pitcher for the second time in his career.
Besides Segura, the new Opening Day starters were Wellington Castillo who started at catcher, David Peralta who started at right field, Yosmany Tomas in left field, and Jake Lamb who was the starting third baseman in his young career.

Opening Day Lineup - 2015
The
previous the year was a complete disaster for the Diamondbacks losing 98-games, the second most in franchise history. As a result the Diamondbacks fired their manager replacing him with Chip Hale.
On April 6, 2015 the Diamondbacks hosted the San Francisco Giants at Chase Field in Phoenix AZ.
Right-handed pitcher Josh Collmenter would make his first Opening Day start taking the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Opening Day line-up featured four changes from the previous season and several position changes.
Chris Owings would get his second Opening Day start this year at second base. Mark Trumbo made his second Opening Day start this year in right field. Aaron Hill started at third base after playing second base in last year's opening game. A.J. Pollock played center field in his third consecutive game and Paul Goldschmidt played first base for the fourth consecutive year. Collmenter was the Opening Day starting pitcher for the first time in his career.

Opening Day Lineup - 2014
For
the second consecutive season the Arizona Diamondbacks finished the 2013 season with an 81-81 record and made changes to the team in hopes to get back to their winning ways.
On March 22, 2014 the Diamondbacks hosted the Los Angeles Dodgers at the Sydney Cricket Grounds in Sydney Australia.
This was the first time the Arizona Diamondbacks would start the season out of the United States. They would play a two-game series with the Dodgers then return to the USA to resume Spring Training before re-starting the regular season again on March 31, 2014 at Chase Field.
Left-handed pitcher Wade Miley would make his first Opening Day start taking the mound for the Arizona Diamondbacks in place of the injured Patrick Corbin.
