The Arizona Diamondbacks began their inaugural season on March 31, 1998 with a 3-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Bank One Ballpark. Interleague play featured teams from the American League West with visits by the Anaheim Angels, Seattle Mariners, and Texas Rangers. The Diamondbacks travelled to the Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics. The season ended with a 3-game series at Bank One Ballpark with the San Diego Padres on September 25 - 27.
