The 2001 regular season began for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday April 3, 2001 with a 3-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. Interleague play featured teams from the American League Central and American League West with visits by the Oakland Athletics, Toronto Blue Jays, and Detroit Tigers. The Diamondbacks travelled to the Anaheim Angels, Seattle Mariners and the Kansas City Royals. The season ended with a 4-game series at Miller Park with the Milwaukee Brewers on October 5 - 7. The Diamondbacks reached the post season playing the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Divisional Series, the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series, and the New York Yankees in the World Series.
