Tucson 
Electric Park, the Spring Training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks from 1998-2010 officially opened on February 28, 1998 at 7:05 PM when the expansion Diamondbacks took the field for the first time in team history to play the White Sox in front of a sold out, standing room only crowd.
In the month that followed nearly 200,000 fans poured into this spectacular new stadium to enjoy the fun and relaxation of Spring Training in Tucson.
It features a central stadium as well as 6 full-size practice fields and two half-fields.
Besides being the Spring Training home for the Diamondbacks and White Sox, the facility was also used by the Arizona Diamondbacks Triple-A Affiliate the Tucson Sidewinders until 2008 when they move to Reno Nevada

Tucson Electric Park (TEP) is located at 2500 E. Ajo Way in Tucson Arizona. TEP is just south of downtown Tucson, just north of Interstate 10. If you're coming from Phoenix or from the north, take the Ajo Way exit (which is also marked as the Kino Parkway. exit) and head east, following the signs and the smell of hot dogs.
The Pima County Stadium District maintains the Keno Veterans Memorial Complex which includes the baseball stadium. Besides the central baseball facility the complex also includes 12 full baseball fields and three half fields. There are also lighted softball fields north of Ajo Way as well as several soccer fields that are used by the community and tournaments.
Tucson Electric Park
When the Arizona Diamondbacks became a franchise they planned to make their Spring Training home in Tucson to help build the baseball community throughout the state of Arizona. They would share a Cactus League stadium with the Chicago White Sox who would relocate from the Grapefruit League to the Cactus League.
A ground breaking ceremony was held at the site on February 14, 1997 for construction on a Spring Training facility for the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Chicago White Sox. When the stadium was opened it was named Tucson Electric Park which it remained until 2010 when the name was changed to Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium.

TEP History
When the Diamondbacks were made the newest franchise of Major League Baseball they chose the name Arizona to help everyone understand that they represented the entire state and not just the Phoenix metropolitan area.
As part of an effort to gain statewide fans, the Diamondbacks selected Tucson as their Spring Training home beginning in the 1998 season.
